Seeing Papilio maraho in the wild has been the most unforgettable moment of my life.
This elusive butterfly species only emerges between April and May in specific areas of Taiwan.
Jiuzhize
Taipingshan was the first location where I had the incredible opportunity to witness this butterfly,
after harboring a fascination for it for years.

Spotting the butterfly puddling around the mud required a stroke of luck,
as it often swiftly flew by into the forest.

Since the Papilio maraho butterfly only appears during a specific season,
from late April to the end of May.
Breathtaking
It has become a tradition for photographers to travel to Jiuzhize hot spring in Yilan County, Taiwan, just to witness the beauty of this majestic butterfly.
